Introduction:
A little over a week ago, I took a much-needed break from the busy city life and went to Wayanad, Kerala. It was my first time visiting the state, and I was amazed by its natural beauty. When I arrived at Paithrukam Homestay in Mananthavady, surrounded by green forests and mountains, I knew it was going to be a special place. It was the perfect setting to disconnect from the outside world and relax in nature.

The Journey to Paithrukam:

Getting to Paithrukam Homestay was an adventure in itself. The homestay is located in a remote area that can only be reached by four-wheel drive vehicles. After a long train journey and a drive, I finally reached Paithrukam, which is situated in a coffee plantation on the banks of kabani river.

As soon as I stepped out of the car, I felt the fresh air. It was cool and had a pleasant touch of humidity, unlike the dry city heat. I took a deep breath and felt myself relax. The weather and natural beauty of Wayanad instantly captivated me. The rolling hills, green forests, and mist-covered mountains were a sight to behold.

The Tranquil Retreat:

When I entered the bungalow at Paithrukam, I immediately felt the calmness of the place, and my stress started to fade away. Staying at Paithrukam allowed me to experience true luxury, not in terms of grandness, but in terms of comfort, relaxation, and being close to nature. The homestay is a beautiful traditional-style bungalow with modern amenities. My room was spacious and filled with natural light.

Exploring Nearby Tourist Spots:

Wayanad is a hidden gem in Kerala, known for its beautiful nature, unique culture, and delicious food. During my stay at Paithrukam, I had the chance to explore some nearby tourist spots and discover the best of Wayanad.

A short drive from Paithrukam took me to the Edakkal Caves, where I saw ancient rock carvings from the Stone Age. For stunning views, I visited Chembra Peak, the highest point in Wayanad. If you’re seeking adventure, you can try zip-lining at Soochipara Falls. And for tea lovers like me, there’s a Tea Museum that tells the story of tea in India and offers a tea-tasting experience with a view of the mountains.

Choosing a Healthy Lifestyle:

Waking up to the sound of birds and the fresh morning breeze, I practiced Surya Shakti, a form of yoga, guided by teachers from the Isha School of Hatha Yoga. The yoga sessions rejuvenated me and prepared me for the day. The teachers not only shared their wisdom but also provided personal care and guidance. Paithrukam offers more than just a homestay; it’s a place where you can explore Indian martial arts through Kalari classes and relax with Ayurvedic spa treatments for mind, body, and soul.

Delicious Organic Food:

The food at Paithrukam was amazing. With a skilled chef, every meal was a delight of flavors and nourishment. The fresh, organic food brought joy to my taste buds. Brunch was satisfying with healthy drinks, refreshing salads, and delicious dishes. Dinner was light and perfect for the cool Wayanad nights.

Amidst this paradise, I explored the farms, filled with fruit and vegetable trees and even coffee plantations. I plucked a ripe jackfruit from a tree and enjoyed its sweet taste as the rain lightly fell. It was a moment of pure happiness, connecting me to nature’s abundance and the beauty around me.

Final Thoughts:

My stay at Paithrukam Homestay was wonderful, and I can’t praise it enough. Paithrukam offers luxurious rooms, rejuvenating yoga practices, cultural experiences, and delicious food, creating an unforgettable experience of wellness and peace. It’s a place where you can relax your mind, revitalize your body, and find solace for your soul. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, Paithrukam is the perfect choice. It combines luxury with nature in a way that is truly unique. Trust me, once you experience it for yourself, you’ll never want to leave.
